Kristina May og Mads Kjøller Damkjær (stifter af kulturinstitutionen Cultivate Today) er aftenens værter i denne første af to episoder omhandlende kunst og klima. Sammen med vores gæster Anders Morgenthaler og Amanda Betz udforskes, om klimakrisen gør noget ved den indre skaberkraft. Podcasten er optaget med et “live” publikum i Charlie Tangos skønne lokaler på Østerbro og støtte af Statens Kunstfond.
Hvordan påvirker klimaforandringer kunstneres og designeres kreative processer, materialevalg, og bæredygtige beslutninger? Er der en konflikt mellem kreativitet og bæredygtighed? Anders Morgenthaler udforsker de miljømæssige udfordringer ved produktion af merchandise og jagten på bæredygtige løsninger, mens Amanda Betz fokuserer på materialernes miljøpåvirkning og bæredygtighed i papirindustrien. Sammen diskuterer panelet, hvordan designere og kunstnere kan skabe meningsfulde og bæredygtige løsninger.

Dette afsnit markerer starten på vores nye specialserie, Tæt på, hvor vi udforsker essensen af det at være designer – det kreative, det menneskelige, følelserne, usikkerheden og alt det, der følger med. I denne første episode deler værterne Kristina May og Tobias Røder deres personlige perspektiver på livet som designer. Kristina og Tobias taler om tvivlens rolle i den kreative proces, glæden ved at skabe og de refleksioner og udfordringer, der præger faget.
Tæt på er en serie udviklet med Tobias Røder med visionen om at vise en mere ærlig side af designverdenen. Her er der plads til at dykke ned i det komplekse ved kreativt arbejde og finde styrke i både passionen og tvivlen. “Design Kan - Tæt på”  tager dig med bag glossy-facaden, hvor mennesket og den kreative proces er i fokus. Design Can Dream - Selecting Materials for Design With: Tej Chauhan

Joining us in the studio today, straight from the stage of the Common Ground Symposium, is British industrial designer Tej Chauhan. Tej's focus is on creating connection, driven by an interest in engaging a broad audience, regardless of brand position or product sector. His multi-award-winning practice was established in London in 2005, during which time he developed his signature process, Emotive Industrial Design. In Tej’s own words: “It is all about creating joy and giving the consumer goose bumps.” Tej shares with us his journey within the industry - how he selects materials and all the stories that have shaped him.

Hvad sker der, når erfarne mestre i faget mødes med unge, nysgerrige sind og hvordan kan designernes perspektiver, erfaringer og visioner skabe bro mellem fortid og fremtid? 
Gennem samtaler vil vi afdække, hvordan design er en evig kilde til fornyelse og forandring. Sæt dig til rette, lyt med, og lad os udforske, hvordan design ikke blot er et fagområde, men en levende og dynamisk kraft, der bringer generationer sammen i dialog.
Velkommen til Designere Kan lave grafisk design. Vi er virkelig glade for at sige velkommen til Line Kurtzweil. Line er Senior Designer hos Kontrapunkt, (på 31. år) og har blandt andet arbejdet for kunder som IKEA, Vestas og Røde Kors. Og så har Line designet Københavns metrokort – noget af en opgave og bedrift.Line er uddannet fra akademiet i 1986. Og velkommen Klara Graah, uddannet fra akademiet i 2023 og nu selvstændig grafisk designer under eget navn. Klara har lavet illustrationer for kunder som Ace & Tate, DR og Miljøstyrelsen. Din vært er CEO og brandstrateg hos AM Copenhagen, Kristina May. 
 
Designere Kan er lavet i samarbejde med Det Kongelige Akademi, som sammen med Designskolen Kolding uddanner fremtidens designkandidater. Det Kongelige Akademi har bidraget økonomisk til udarbejdelsen af denne episode.
